Creative Director

I started out as a copywriter, chasing the one line that makes everything else click. That chase took me through some of the best agencies in the world, Saatchi & Saatchi among them, writing for some of the biggest brands there are.

Somewhere along the way the line stopped being enough. Now I work as a creative director, shaping the whole picture: the idea, the look, the film and the team that brings it to life.

“Now Showing”

Joseph the Lonely Wyvern

A wordless animated short about an artist who refuses to shrink himself to fit in. I wrote the story and screenplay, built the shot list and designed the character by hand, then used AI to generate the visuals and animation.

Agency credits

Where I learned the craft, in order of billing.

Lines that stuck

Before I directed anything, I wrote the line.

Interactive convention wall, ASHP. See the work

  3. “Pit stains have no place here.”

What I bring

A writer's instincts with a director's eye, across campaigns, brands and film.

  • Creative Direction

Leading concepts, teams and campaigns from the brief to the last export.

  • Brand Voice

Finding how a brand should sound, then writing the rules so everyone else can too.

  • Copy & Scripts

Still my first language. Headlines, scripts, sites, emails, slogans that stick.

  • Film & Video

Writing and directing, from live-action brand films to animated shorts.

  • AI Production

Previs, pitch films and character pipelines that move faster than a storyboard.

  • Illustration & Animation

For when the idea needs to be drawn before it can be sold.

About

The short version.

Still a surf dude with an English degree.

I came up as a copywriter in health advertising. As a senior copywriter at Saatchi & Saatchi, I was lead writer on Pfizer and VRAYLAR work and wrote social for MAVYRET. I've also written at Havas Health Plus and Eversana InTouch, and for fintech startups and direct-to-consumer brands.

Along the way I kept picking up more of the job: the camera, the pencil and, eventually, the whole brief. As a creative director at MH-1, I've led &Collar and GT Anywhere, and I write and direct films, including AI-assisted shorts like Joseph the Lonely Wyvern.
